Tidal Waves - Swim Meet RSVP - Declare by June 1

We had a great first week of practice! It was a bit chilly later in the week. Thank you to all who braved the cold water. We are excited that we could start off the season with the whole pool to ourselves. Next week will be more challenging with only three lanes. A reminder to 8 and unders and MicroWaves to only come to two of the three practice next week. It looks like we may have some rain and it may be chilly again, so please check the SwimTopia app and email for updates before you come to the pool.

We are less than 2 weeks away from our first home meet on Wednesday, June 4th against Canterbury! You are now able to declare whether you will be attending or not attending all swim meets. Unlike past seasons when this has occurred from week to week, you can declare your status for all meets at the beginning of the season. You can change your ”attending/not attending” status until Sunday at 11:59 PM for Wednesday meets and Saturday at 11:59 PM for our final Tuesday meet. We will send weekly reminders prior to the deadlines. You must declare for our first meet by Sunday, June 1 at 11:59 pm or you will not be entered in the meet.

Each week you will receive an email from our Parent Reps a few days before the meet that specifies the check-in time and meet schedule in addition to other meet details (parking, pool address, meet theme). Swimmer check-in time typically starts around 4:30 PM, but sometimes varies from meet to meet. We will follow up next week with more details on swim meets, but in the meantime, check out our Meet Survival Guide for what to expect. Swim meets may feel overwhelming for new families and swimmers. We are here to help and answer any questions you may have. Please reach out!

We highly recommend downloading the FREE SwimTopia app for RSVPing to meets, getting updates during swim meets, and to see your swim meet entries and your swimmer’s times. Times will no longer be shared in the Meet Mobile app.

  • To declare whether you are attending each swim meet, log into your SwimTopia account at www.wtwswim.com or in the free SwimTopia app.
  • On a computer, click on the Team Calendar or Upcoming Events and you will see a list of the meets.
  • Click on the green MEET ENTRY - OPEN box (see below).

  • Click Edit and then select either “Attending this meet” or “Not attending this meet” for each swimmer in your family.
  • Click “Save”. If you do not click “Save”, your entries will not be saved.
  • There is a box to add a note regarding extenuating circumstances (e.g., my swimmer injured her ankle and cannot swim breaststroke, my swimmer will arrive at meet late due to summer camp and cannot swim early events, etc.). This is not a place for individual event requests.
  • You can do this for all six meets and be able to easily see whether you have RSVPd for a meet. The green box will turn to “MEET ENTRY – EDIT” when you have completed your response (see below).

On the SwimTopia app, the process is very similar. Click on a meet on the calendar, click Meet Signup, and then follow the instructions above.

MicroWaves swimmers do not need to declare their intent for each meet until you are moved up to the Competition Team.

If you are having any difficulties, please reach out to me at [email protected].
