GRAL Championships are held every year following the end of the swimming season. Once a swimmer has attained a minimum of a JV time in any stroke (see GRAL Time Standards), he or she has qualified for Champs in that event. 

Champs registration takes place online during the last week of the season. The coaches will continue to work with qualifying swimmers between July 9-17 to prepare for the Champs meet. 

Detailed information regarding Champs will be emailed to Champs Qualifiers toward the end of the season. For 2026, Champs will be held Saturday 7/18 for ages 10 and under and Sunday 7/19 for ages 11 and up at Swim RVA. Please note that this is a change from previous seasons since 11-12 swimmers will now swim on Sunday with the older swimmers.
